The Kitchen Design of the Miniature Cullen House

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010 | Innovative

One of the things that my husband and I are looking forward for this year is the construction of our very own home. We already talked to the architect, my husband’s friend, about the details and specifications that we want for our house. The design of our house is inspired by Edward Cullen’s house in the movie, Twilight, only smaller and having less glass windows. Aside from the spacious master’s bedroom with a walk-in closet for my clothes, shoes and bags, another part of the house that I made sure to describe in minute detail to the architect was the kitchen.

The kitchen design that I specified was very sleek and contemporary, which follows the overall theme of our house. Aside from the location of our kitchen counters and type of material to be used, I enumerated the different appliances and areas in the kitchen so that our architect, together with our interior designer would be able to install the appropriate lighting fixtures that would not only accentuate our kitchen but also provide ample lighting for our kitchen activities. Our architect informed us about the different lights that we can use in our kitchen. The task lighting will be situated on the work surfaces so that the person doing kitchen work would be able to see what he’s doing. The accent lighting would be placed inside our glass cabinet containing delicate china which initially belonged to my grandmother. Ambient and decorative lighting would also be installed to give our kitchen a soft, warm glow and a little zest and sparkle.
